Art School stuff took a delay. I'm going to be applying to Montserrat College of Art in the next few weeks. I'm really ashamed at how week my portfolio is. Most of my work is incomplete and I still feel really inadequate about a lot of serious art things. I'm proud to say I've learned a lot without the aid of art classes and art books.
I learned basic color theory, anatomy and just about everything else through trial and error. I'm a little annoyed it took me so long, but I didn't have any mentors or anything over my shoulder pointing out things like disproportions and fly swatted positions.
Finances are really the only thing preventing me from applying. My family won't be able to afford anything other than community college. It's a shit environment filled with those low level drug dealers that deal out of their grandmother's basement. Everyone smokes and I'm pretty much sick of it. I refuse to spend another semester there.
I should update this deviant art site. Plenty of things to upload... no real motivation though.

Got a job teaching kids how to make video games for the summer. Flash and Mark Overmar's Game Maker. Fun fun fun.


I should probably give up on the whole trying to help people get better at art on Kong. I really was hoping to connect to someone on a serious art level but it seems nobody takes art seriously, for the most part at least. People post something without willing to acknowledge there were any imperfections with it. It's a final product! PERFECT! Half of the people try "pixel art" and save as JPEG because they like the blurriness to it. They should just over AA it or use a blur tool. The blur caused by JPEG isn't even their work. It's mind boggling. I don't understand how people can continue to kiss so much ass there. I understand the power of positive reinforcement but ignore someones flaws or mistakes is just retarded.

I'm tempted to make a fake account and put no effort into it just like them and get praise and applause. Fuck, I'm probably just jealous of their SKILLZ.
